Build your own home apothecary using wild and garden-grown plants. DIY Apothecary practices the ancient art of foraging, blending, and brewing powerful plants to create lotions, balms, toners, and tonics. Create your own personalized collection of self-care products rooted in nature using flowers, berries, herbs, and barks. We’ll explore scents and symbolism, classic medicinal uses for each ingredient, and tips on foraging and growing your own apothecary items at home. Leave with your own custom blend of self-care products, including a rosehip/rose steamer, juniper/lavender toner, and rosemary/bergamot shower steamer/bath soak, or any other apothecary selections that speak to you!

Flower-Pounding Workshop
Within each flower sits an explosion of color waiting to be released. In this hands-on workshop we will use a pounding technique and a variety of flowers to create atmospheric and colorful prints on tea towels. Beginning with notes on technique followed by a demonstration, Shannon will then speak to the details of composing pleasing, watercolor-like patterns, shapes, and textures. This form of eco-printing has a final result similar to the Japanese technique of shibori-dying.
Thursday August 22nd, 2019. 5:00-7:00 p.m. Seattle, Washington.
